We will get to know the beautiful city of La Serena starting from the streets of its historic center by visiting the Recova, old artisan center of the city, to continue with the Plaza de Armas and some emblematic buildings, observing the Neo Colonial architecture of the sector. After visiting the Monumental Lighthouse, we will take the Avenida del Mar towards Coquimbo, to visit the Fort of Coquimbo, the artisanal fishing dock, the English district, the Cross of the Third Millennium, the Mirador Los Navegantes and the Herradura Bay.
On the second day we will have a full day excursion to the Pingüino Humboldt National Reserve, Isla Choros and Isla Damas, starting with a navigation around Isla Choros to observe various species of marine fauna such as penguins, sea otters, yuncos, Piqueros, etc., to disembark in Isla Damas, a beautiful island of white sand and crystal clear waters, where you can visit its beaches and take photographs. On the return trip, you will have lunch in a typical restaurant and will also know the process of olive oil production. Later, we will search for terrestrial fauna like foxes and guanacos, to finally return to La Serena.
A visit to the fourth region of Chile is incomplete without making known the Elqui Valley, and on this full day excursion you will enjoy a wonderful day in the valley, visiting some picturesque villages full of charms and traditions, and of course learn about the pisco production process and taste its exquisite varieties. You will get to know part of the life and work of the Nobel Prize for Literature Gabriela Mistral and you will have free time in the village Pisco Elqui where you will have lunch, enjoying the traditional gastronomy of the area, to end the visit by touring artisan foothills of Pisco Elqui and its main square, where one of the only monuments in Chile designed by Gustavo Eiffel is located.
